To the Public.

It is with pleasure mixed with regret that I offer at Public Auc-

tion the collection of Dr. Chas. A. Graeber of Meriden, Conn., em-
bracing' as it does the result of over forty 3rears of persistent collection
and study. Pleasure; because I am certain that there is not a coin cata-
logued but that will appeal to anyone possessing the true numisma-
tic spirit. Regret; that the necessity of “putting one’s house in order”
should compel Dr. Graeber to part with the collection, each and every
coin of which has had his personal attention and loving care. But
“Tempos fugit et nos fugimur” and so again I say I regret its dispersal
yet take pleasure in presenting it for your approval and purchase. It
is possible also that at some future sale I may have the felicity of offer-
ing either in America or Europe, the superb collection of gold and silver
medals belonging to Dr. Graeber which he for the present retains, pen-
ding some historical notes, he is desirous of making. Particular atten-
tion is called to the numbers directly following each lot, which indicates
the exact size of each coin, thereby assisting the bidder in making his
offer and in each envelope will be found an autograph description to-
gether with various historical n >tes, very interesting and instructive.
I have included in the present sale, some choice pieces from other cabin-
ets, to which I call special attention.

cannot bid for ONE PIECE in a lot, Any bid up to 50c. can
be entertained, but after that the bids must be 55c, 60c, and
upwards. SALES AT AUCTION ARE STRICTLY FOR
CASH. All coins are GUARANTEED GENUINE unless
otherwise stated and the guarantee holds good indefinately.
There are no duplicates in an}' lot unless so mentioned, or
stated to be unassorted. Copies of catalogue priced in red ink,
delivered ten days after sale. 35c. CASH WITH ORDER.
